Another update

I don't have any pictures for this one.. Just an update. Todd is doing good. He has hearing back in his ears. its not all back put its better than it was. They dont know if it was time or if it was the steroids that made it better. I really don't care why it came back, i am happy that it is. I read over my last posts and cried to myself. I look at my posts and think gosh I dont really have anything that matters to people.. I decided that it does not matter what I post for other people its what i post for me to read. I can read them and feel what I felt when I wrote them.


I am going to try to do better for my self. So that I can remember the things that I want to. So on with the show already.


Its the last weekend before Morgan goes back to school as and 8th grader. Boy how does time fly. Connor is going into a new school this year. He is way excited to be a 5th grader...and little miss princess T. Well preschool is next week. I am sure that I will have lots of stories for that kid. We had to tell her teacher that she talks like a sailor and she will let you know that she thinks shes tha boss.. For me well I am going back to school.. kind of. I started a online Medical Transcript editor class. I am wanting to be done with with early next year so that I can do it part time and then go full time. I am not happy at my job. I love the people that I work with but I am not happy with them at the same time. I see way to much saddness and not a lot of happy, when I am on my unit. who knew that 5years of doing the same thing and you could still cry going home at least 2 times a week and I don't even get to watch the worst of it.


ok happy again not mad mindy I need to keep telling myself that and what a better way then to talk about the kids.


Morgan wants to start up dance again and so does trinity. That all starts this tuesday.


Connor started football up again.. that kid can really tackle some kids... I LOVE IT.


Well that is all for now. I will have get you some pictures of the first days of school, dance and some football pictures.
O and Todd sold his jeep.. WHAT THE I know.. he loves the thing but hates to work on it. O well I hope he doesn't look back and kick his self.

Doing better

Time for an update for those few people that read this. We had our MRI follow up appointment today. Everything is fine! They have no reason for the hearing loss. They did another hearing test and he is slowly getting his hearing back. He is still on the medication. I really don't know what else to write about. I guess now that I don't have the stress I can't find any words. Thank you for all our friends and family for the prayers. This will be a long road with lots of turn offs but with each other everything will be fine.

We arrived at the Hospital at 0730 on 5/6/2011. We went to the extra large building and found where we need to go to get the MRI started. We signed in with the clerk who gave us one of those pager things like when you go to "The Olive Garden" when that very noisey thing went off we paid the lady our portion of the MRI fee. Can I say if they pay 80% I would hate to see that bill.. They then gave us some paper to fill out. Todd only got his name filled out and they called him back as they asked me to stay behind and wait, my eyes started to get all watery as he walked away. I tried to watch fox news but, that did not last very long. I can only watch so much crap about the bad things that happen in the world. I tried to read the book.. I have a hard time reading any way but, when anyone would walk down the hall I would look up wanting to see his face. about 45 min of reading looking for him. A door opened and a guy called from "Mindy Smith" My heart dropped, I waited for a few seconds for hime to say it again.. Maybe I heard him wrong.. o god please say I heard you wrong... I knew he should have gotten a pill to help him relax. I new I should have just gone back.. I heard it again "Mindy Smith" I turned to him and said.. I am Mindy but my husband is the one with the appointment. He then smiled and said the Mindy I have is 87. O good. Why do I freak out like that? Why do I always think the worse of things. Ok now my heart is back to normal. I guess I can read for a little longer... NOPE... No more reading for me.

That is when I started to write all this stuff down in the smallest note book in the world.

This is the longest wait of my life. I keep hearing the other peoples pager things going off and seeing about 8 people going in and out. I know that this would be long thing but, I don't know I would not be able to handle this. I keep thining should I go ask the lady that registered us and see if she knows how long it should take. Should I go walk around, why don't they have fish for me to look at. What place doesn't have fish for me to look at.

I finally see him he is walking toward me. He is not stopping I think he is more down with this place than I am. I picked up my bag and we left. They told him that the Dr. Office will have the readings on monday. This is going to be along weekend.

So to start out... If Todd knew I was posting this for the world to see he might be mad...
For those of you that don't know Todd.. He became a father overnight... He married me and my two kids.. we had our baby 4 years ago.. He is a hard working guy, that will do anything for anyone. He may not understand the fact that girls cry and why if you look at them the wrong way they think that something is wrong. But that is something that he will have to get over; because he lives with 3 girls. Him and Connor will always be out numbered.
He is my always makes me feel safe and I know that he will always be there for me.
But now he needs me, family and friends more than he ever will know..
Last Thursday morning he woke up with a funny sound in his left ear, like a tin can was over it. By Friday he could not take it anymore and made a Dr appointment. She told him that it was from the long winter and that because of that we are having to run our heater more than normal and that his nasal passages are plugged. she gave him some spray and saline spray to help with that.
We then left for a family vacation to Moab. When he woke up Saturday he had no hearing in his ear. Thinking it was the same thing he went to the Dr. for he really didn't think anything of it. Monday morning he called me at work and asked if I could make him an appointment with an ENT (you know the ear guy) He was able to get in that same day. When I called him after work to see how it went all he could say was bad. He could not talk because he was at the pharmacy. When I got home he let me know that he was diagnosed with "Sudden sensorineral hearing loss" and that he is 100% deaf in his left ear. The dr said they can't explain why or how it happens but that they will give him a steroid to see if that will help. Non the less we are with out answers. We started to google things. We found out that it happens overnight. One day you can hear and 12hrs you can't. they are not sure if the other one will go too. The articles we read said that 12% of people will have hearing loss forever and some people can get there hearing back in 6 months. He is scheduled for an MRI this Friday to see if anything else is going on and we should have an update on the 16th. I have big mixed emotions, on this one. I don't want anything to be wrong but I do want an answer of some kind. I am sorry to leave the ones that are reading this and wondering what is going to happen, but I don't know and we wont for a few weeks.
I see parents and children at work struggle with life changing things all the time. But I never thought that I would have to deal with this in my own life. He is suck a Strong person and to see him suffer and not be able to fix it kills me. Please be strong for him and our family and keep us in your prayers.

Jordan vs Brighton

This is the face of a winner... Thats right they Won... It was a great game... 20-0. Connor got one pick and some good tackles in. His buddy Oscar got a few touch downs. At end of the game, the black ran to his chin... Boy does he sweet...




So this was the best game ever... Connor got a pick. His buddy Oscar ran in for a touch down.(2x)

At the end of the game one mom bought the boys treats from the snack shack and the coach got them Pizza on Mondays practice.. The boys loved the win.. Connor still had the smile Sunday night.... I love this..

Jordan vs Bingham

This was our first home game... The boys did a great job..
They did not win but they left with lots of good memories...
I did not get a lot of picutes of this one.. I started a bet with Connor.
Every time he gets a good tackle in its one less load of dishes that he has to do.,,

5 good ones= 5 days of no dish duty..

We had one bad play.. Oscar (Connors buddy) got tackled by the other team so hard he left early to with a head injury... The poor thing could not even walk, one dad had to carry him to the car... But he is great now.. It was just a little scary.

Unfortunatly they did not win this one, but they played a good game.
The coach's told the boys after the game " that next we they all need to do there jobs and that today was a learning day. That the pro's are still learning something new."


My goal is to post something about every game..

First day of 7th Grade

Morgan had her first day of Jr. High today.. (8/20/2010) She had to be there at 8am. So what did she need to do before we left? Yes paint her toes because the shoes she had on are open toed.. She painted them at 745.. Are you kidding me... The first day of school picture we always do. Notice that the shoes are in the flower pot.. Toes are still wet...

She is getting so big... I know that all parents say this. But it fills like yesterday that she was just a baby that I was bringing home from the hospital...

Morgan wanted to test out Tennis this year.
She took a two week class at Alta Canyon Fitness Center ( I think that was the name!)

As everyone does she had a hard time at first. But she did get better as time went on..

She was in a class with one other kid, that only showed up 3 days out of the 8.. So luck Morgan got private lessons!

When I asked her why she wanted to play Tennis she said " They have cute skirts!" So true and with those legs it would look cute..
She ended up not liking as much as she thought. She is going to try another sport. So next year we might have a Basketball player, A swimmer, a Volleyball player, or maybe even a racecar driver...

Easter 2010

This Easter was not like the others we did not get to go to Moab. Sad as it may be we had lots of fun anyway.

Saturday morning Trinity woke up and wanted to know if the Easter Bunny came to her house. When we had to tell her know she but her head down all sad and turn and walked way. So sad..

But later that day I told her if she did not clean her room then the Bunny would not come. I thought that would make her get in there and start cleaning. Well her answer was "so hes not coming?" Nice. She could careless already... But she did clean it with a little help.
(just notice. we used Morgans camera for some of these. Looks like I need to change the date!)

Later that day we decorated eggs. That was lots of fun.
Boy when that bunny came the candy popping did not stop. Trinity loved it. Morgan and Connor had fun too. Grandma Cyndy got the kids candy and beach towels for the pool this year.
Morgan and Connor look so excited in this picture. They wanted to go spend the gift cards that Todd and I got them. .....Hope the Easter Bunny got everyone what they wanted...I sure do thank everyday that I have with my family and thats exactly what he brought me this year. Thanks Easter bunny for a great easter!

Trinity is 3

Thats right Trinity is three now... Let me tell you how the day started off. Todd took the other kids to play at the play Tennis and that was not cool with Trinity. So I told her she could go to the store with me. Well I had her in this way cute skirt and top but all she has are sneakers and she was not having that. I had to take (ok didn't but wanted to) her to payless shoes. I found out that my 3 year old does not like my taste in shoes...

The cake that I could not pass up... It was way cute. Worth the money...
This is one of the cute dress that my mom got her. This girl loves dress and would have one on all the time if I would let her...

This is the big wheel that her Grandma Cyndy got her. She was so excited. I think pa loved putting it together. Grandpa Marty said Pa got picked because he is the only one that has tools on his belt...

I even think all the parts got put on it.. BONUS...

She would not get on it after it was put together because she did not have a helmet. I guess that's her Easter gift..Someone tell that bunny..

Now this was my favorite. My mom made her this way freaking cute blanket. I want one in my size.... SO CUTE

On to the rest of the party. Uncle Jeff walked in with a big princess bag and she dug right in. The first present she opened was a cute doll that went in the bath tub.. and boy did she think she needed to get in the tub right then. We did talk her out of it. She then opened Grandma Cyndy's. She got a Caillo back pack and hockey doll. A Dora Big Wheel that her and Pa (Dennis) put together... She got some cute books from our neighbors.. and a fun alphabet leap frog thing from our friend Scott. She loved opening all the stuff. Its sad and nice to have a 3 year old. I don't miss the diapers but I miss the baby.... She is getting so big... I can't believe how fast time goes.

Quick add on.. That doll that goes in the bath tub.. goes potty.. Trin did not think that was cool at all... LOL... that took another 5 minutes telling her its only water from the bath and that its ok for the doll to do that..

Ok... So I forgot I had this!

See I am not good at this. I put it up.. Complained I could not do it and then didn't do it.
Lets see whats new... O Trinity is 3 going on 18 ... Todd got her some princess dress's and shoes. She had to sleep with one pair on that night...
The weather today was great I got some gardening in.. ok I really just took the dead stuff out from last year and looked around and thought... I need a green thumb.
Connor is loving this warm we had too. He can get out and play sports.
Morgan really doesn't say much about the weather, she likes it because she can wear her shoes that Todd wont let her when it snows..(dads just don't understand style)
For Todd.. well this weather is four wheeling weather. He brought his jeep home and tried to tell me all the stuff he did on it.. Its not that I don't care its just that I don't understand.

I am not good at this at all..

Ok I just don't understand this stuff yet. Its odd to me. I really do want to make this something that people can look at and want to look at again.. Just don't know how.
So I will keep playing and all my blogs are going to be dumb and no one will look at it but heck. I have to start some place.. well here is to next blog.. I will try to make it sooner than 7 months

Well this is my first time blogging... I guess I will start with what my family is all about...
I am Mindy Smith.. I am a Pharmacy Technician at Primary Children's Hospital in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.. I have work there for 3 1/2 years and I really do Love it... I would really like to go back to school and be a nurse, but I have to much on my plate right now with my 3 kids. I am married to Todd Smith.. We have been married for 5 years. He likes to go Jeeping and hang out with friends and family.. He works with his Dad at Superior Auto..
We have 3 Great kids.. Morgan 11, She is almost taller than me. She is excited to be in the 6th grade this year. She is going on her first Girls Scout Camp, this week.. 3 days with out my Morgan... I will miss her but I know she will have fun.. Connor he is 8.. He started Football and Loves it, after his first practice he said.. " I hope we make it to finals.." I hope he keeps that great attitude..He also likes to go jeeping with his dad... And last but not least we have Trinity, or Baby ... She is 2 1/2.. and is so much fun to watch grow up... She loves her brother and sister...she is your typical 2 year old. She is always on the move.
Well thats about it for now.. I will try and keep things up to date as much as I can... TRY...
